The rampant use of plastic in modern society poses much danger to our environment. In particular, it affects our oceans and the marine life that reside within these waters. In 2018 I collaborated with Sea Shepherd to bring awareness to this global issue. I used bold statements and a dash of controversy to capture the attention of the viewer, Prompting them to find out more about the issue and the solution via the Sea Shepherd website.
Plastic can take up to 1000 years to decompose. Marine Wild life often mistake plastic as food and consume it. Sometimes, even before this can happen it often ends up breaking down into micro plastics. Marine wild life often ingest these starting from the bottom of the food chain as microbes, through to plankton and small fish making its’ way into whales. As it ends up in the digestive system, toxins get released into the blood stream. Many don’t make it can often have catastrophic and often fatal results.
